Denise Christensen was born in Campbell River, BC in 1965. She trained at the Alberta College of Art in Calgary, graduating in 1989, and completed a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at Simon Fraser University in 1991. Today she works as a full-time artist in West Vancouver. Her still life paintings in oil explore the quiet beauty of ordinary objects — light catching the surface of fruit, the gentle curve of a leaf — reflecting her belief that a closer look at the small details of life reveals a deeper connection to the world.
