Debi Mackinnon
Debi was born and educated in Vancouver, Canada, earning an honours degree in Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia. Growing up in a stimulating, artistic family ignited Debi’s passion for creating and combining colour with canvas. Vibrant colour and multi layers of texture are key components in the artist’s large acrylic works. Debi creates tactile experiences and visual sensations by pushing colour and texture to the edge — all part of a day’s painting in her studio.
Debi’s unique ability to create and combine colour, paired with her innate sense of movement and flow, have contributed to her relatively rapid rise in the artistic world. In March, 2005, she made her first gallery appearance; her solo show sold out, allowing her to immerse herself in her passion for painting. Her work is gaining international recognition and resides in private collections from Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Japan to London England, Canada and the United States.
Debi’s work has gallery representation in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Shanghai, and New York.
